Budgets for Veteran’s Monuments and Training Programs at Stake
On September 20, DoD Comptroller Robert Hale and the service vice chiefs are scheduled to appear before the House Armed Services Committee to discuss sequestration.
A report from the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee on Friday, September 14th warns funding for Arlington National Cemetery, the American Battle Monuments Commission and the DOL Veteran’s Employment and Training Service will suffer budget cuts under sequestration.
While Veterans’ disability and education benefits, health care and counseling are all exempt from sequestration, funding for the non-VA programs that support those who served is at risk.
